A couple of days ago I was in the corporation's TS, everything was fine, until my microphone went crazy. What followed was my voice slowly moving from a natural one to a distorted, static, laggy version from hell. After a couple of complaints from my fellow capitalists, I tried to look at the settings, and what followed was a strange electric/static noise from the headset, and then the microphone itself.
Although it all fixed itself the next day. I still don't know what happened, nor I ever will. |

There are usually some difficulties when you are in a mostly US-based corporation, especially when the more European-friendly player-base is being established. So, a couple of days ago I send out a mail to the corp stating that my play time will be minimal, at best to level up some skills and do some stuff up to a certain date.
So, today there was an operation going on, and well, most of the operation stuff that they discussed I was kept at the dark about. So, seeing as it is late and I am really tight on schedule tomorrow (yes, plenty of work during a Sunday, I know it sucks) I bode farewell to my pilots by saying "good night" in the chat.
A comment quickly followed as plans were executed, people assembled;
"Well, she's going to ******* sleep"
I smiled as I closed EVE and TS for the night.
It's in the small things, the deep passion about each particular thing other people put into everything that makes me enjoy this game. EVE Online is like living at the edge, you're always prone to do something wrong. I don't think I'll stop playing this game, ever. (Seriously! I am not being sarcastic) |

So, court-martial. Third day on the corp, everything seems fine, until I am shown up that basically someone in the corp believes I am a spy. Why? Because they also, coincidentally believe I am using a voice changer. I did a traceroute and clearly showed them that my connection sucks since it is all the way to the west coast of the U.S. (that means ~400ms) and occasionally, some people's voices sound like static, or robotic.
I had to give my full API yet once more, and again being forced to wait, and then pulled into the discussion room, where I was supposed to be asked two questions, of course the first one was "Why are you using a voice changer" and when I offered the traceroute proof I got "That doesn't mean anything, since I have a lot of experience with this and you are using a voice changer" to which I cannot reply. The second question was the basic one "Why did you start playing EVE Online?" something I answered during my application (that took place three days ago!)
So, I was put into waiting once more. I was thinking about resigning at the time, the corp hasn't offered anything to me so far, and it has been a complete loss on my side (as I didn't ask for any ISK, since I have enough) but to top that off, I was being court-martialed over paranoia caused by EVE Online stereotypes.
My patience didn't run out before the argument between the directors. The accusations dropped. |

Do you think I should start a blog about my EVE Online "adventures"? |

After the last few turbulent days with the corporation things seem settled. I am now a member that is officially welcome after being extensively (and annoyingly) investigated the attitude of people seems a bit more friendly.
On a side note, I supported my corporation during an operation yesterday where I basically had to scan down a couple of things meanwhile others worked on something else, my effort bore fruits and in turn a reward of 74,000,000 ISK directly from the CEO.
Today I have also sent a lengthy mail towards the corporation with a couple of suggestions about some projects that it is ready to tackle, I do not think my suggestions are really effective, but input from the new players is definitely welcome, and has been actually helpful sometimes in the past for the corporation as I have been told.
I actually always think that input from people that see something for the first time is important as they can actually have a better contrast of things when compared to those experienced seeing the same thing for a long time.
I am glad things seem to be looking good ahead. I also have started my own blog at http://catherine-wolfisheim.tumblr.com/ |

Woke up, got my cup of coffee, and working on research papers, and a hundred other things. So how do I have time to post one and then on the forums? Multitasking. ~ C.W.

Well, my weekend has been full, and what I expected to be an uneventful day turned into me purchasing a new ship, a battle for defending the home system, and finally a story of betrayal. This game never leaves me without a story. Of course, I posted everything in my journal.
How's everyone doing? ~ C.W.

[quote=Commissar Kate]I finally plugged in my free 250GB SSD today.
Now I have more SSD space then what I know what to do with./quote]
Anything! My favorite hard-disk filling activity involves flags with skulls, and bones, and parrots. You'll see any kind of space being filled quite fast that way.
That said, I have decided to take up on writing commissions, and you can check more about it on my blog. On other news, everything's been fine, and things are moving in a good way as I expected, but they are not quite settled down as much I want. ~ C.W.

Just posted my first piece of creative writing, and I plan on releasing it episodically (since it would be enormous to complete in one-shot in a way that I would be happy) on my blog, and it's called "Space Odyssey"
The story basically talks about Catherine as an aged pilot going into depths of the universe due to an accident with an attempt to wormhole space exploration, and it plans on building up as a science fiction story, with some twist of survival and tragedy.
You can read the first episode on my blog. Any criticism is for sure welcome.
Anyway, how's everyone doing this fine day? ~ C.W.

I want to also say thank you to anyone that reads my blog, and remind that honest feedback is always welcome. (Especially when it comes to my creative writing) ~ C.W.
